We’ll say that Festool Model is better than Bosch one. Flippin slick. When it comes to power tools, Bosch & Festool are one of the major companies. I have owned the Makita 6040 (not 6050) and can say it is a very agressive tool.

Bosch – hands down! If the budget allows I would choose the proper sanders for the job from the Festool line. The festool sanders are good, but their quality demands a premium price. Accuracy I value my lungs and they start with DC in mind and then design the tool.

Festool sanders tied in to one of their vacs makes for a very efficient and dust free sanding station. It is a very easy to use tool and also compact in size considering its features. I’ve got the festool and if DC and ergonomics is important to you then the festool is the winner IMO. It ruined the finish and I had to re-do the whole dang thing with my 5" Dewalt.

I am talking about the 60 grit (if needed) Most likely 80 grit ... then I would switch over to my festool Ets 150/3 Eq to hit the 120-180-220 grits if needed ... If you are a beginner then you can go for an affordable option while if you are an advanced user, there are some high end tools as well. The Makita for price and specs seems to be in the middle of the two.

So, check the vibration rating before you buy it.

The 6" sander is a 1250 devs and I've had it for over ten years. I think the rotex is a great tool but i feel there are other methods that could be better for a furniture shop. I could buy sandpaper for all my sanders for 10 years with the money saved. It's now my primary sander.
